Trump was showing off a chart of border crossing numbers when bangs started ringing through the crowd. Trump could be seen reaching with his right hand toward his neck. There appeared to be blood on his face.

In a statement shared by his campaign, a Trump spokesman said the former president is “fine” and is being checked at a medical facility. The Secret Service also said in a statement that “the former President is safe.”

The White House said President Joe Biden has received an “initial briefing” on incident.

Prayers for the former president are also coming from his political opponents.
