Held at the prestigious Padre Guardia Jaén Hall of the Bolívar Palace in Panama City, Panama, this historic gathering marked the commencement of the bilateral program for 2024-2026.

A shared vision for progress

The heads of both delegations echoed a resounding sentiment on the paramount importance of fortifying the bonds of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Central to their discussions was the significance of the newly crafted cooperation program, envisioned as a conduit for the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and experiences.

Emphasizing its potential to bolster institutional capabilities and enhance the quality of life for citizens of both nations, the program sets a dynamic course for mutual growth.

A multifaceted collaboration

The Bilateral Cooperation Program for 2024-2026 encompasses a diverse array of projects spanning multiple sectors.

From initiatives in tourism and special education to endeavors in language exchange, environmental conservation, and disability inclusion, the program exemplifies a holistic approach towards fostering sustainable development and inclusivity.

Virtual engagement

Despite geographical boundaries, the Joint Commission witnessed the active participation of key stakeholders. H.E. Jose Alpuche, the non-resident Ambassador of Belize to Panama, and H.E. Marta Irene Boza, the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama in Belize, contributed virtually to the deliberations, underscoring the collaborative spirit that transcends physical constraints.

Accompanying Ambassador Mai were esteemed representatives including Ms. Jenina Urbina, Foreign Service Officer; Mr. Abil Castañeda, Chief Tourism Officer at the Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations; and Ms. Jonelle Hemmans, Business Development Officer of the same ministry.
