Church’s Texas Chicken to open first Jamaica location in 2025

Global fast-food chain Church’s Texas Chicken is set to enter the Jamaican market with the opening of its first restaurant at Mall Plaza on Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, in the third quarter of 2025. The company also plans to expand across the island in the coming years.

The expansion is being facilitated through a partnership with the Global Brands Group of Companies, a leading restaurant management company in the Caribbean. The group operates over 140 restaurants across 12 brands in Trinidad and Tobago, St Lucia, St Kitts, and Jamaica.

“We are delighted to continue to work with Church’s Texas Chicken and support its growth in the Caribbean,” said Anthony Sabga-Aboud, Director of Global Brands Group. “The Kingston Church’s restaurant is the first step in our expansion in Jamaica, and we are committed to growing across the country. We look forward to sharing the brand’s legendary Texas flavors while delivering a fantastic guest experience and building strong community connections.”

Church’s Texas Chicken has maintained a presence in the Caribbean for years, and its entry into Jamaica aligns with the company’s global expansion strategy.

“We believe that Kingston is a perfect first location in Jamaica, and the restaurant will stand out with its impressive look,” said Gregg Gallagher, Vice President of Americas for Church’s Texas Chicken. “Communities across the Caribbean have embraced Church’s, and together with the Global Brands Group, we look forward to sharing our unique brand experience with more guests.”

Jamaica is already home to several major fast-food chains, including KFC, Burger King, Wendy’s, Popeyes, and Starbucks. KFC has a significant footprint on the island, with dozens of locations, while Burger King and Wendy’s also have an established presence. Popeyes has been expanding in the country, offering its signature spicy fried chicken, and Starbucks has introduced its coffee shops to the Jamaican market in recent years.

Founded over 70 years ago, Church’s Texas Chicken and its sister brand, Texas Chicken, operate more than 1,500 locations in 22 countries worldwide.
