The South Florida 5K-Jamaica Moves is scheduled to be staged later this year (Oct 5), in five cities across the Southern USA region under the Consulate’s jurisdiction, namely Atlanta, Houston, Orlando and two cities in South Florida.

The proceeds from this event will go towards the Adopt-A-Clinic initiative, which was also announced at the event by Jamaica’s Health Minister, Dr. Hon. Christopher Tufton who was on a visit to South Florida.
Adopt-A-Clinic is a primary health care initiative by the Ministry of Health to engage the Jamaican private sector and the Diaspora to play a critical role in improving the provision and access to Jamaica’s health care through partnership and philanthropic support.

A pool of 100 clinics in parishes across the island has been identified for adoption.  Already, two participants at the Saturday launch signed up for three clinics identified on the program.   More information on both projects can be accessed through the Consulate General and the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
