A teenage Trinidadian husband who admitted he kicked and slapped around his wife, has been ordered to attend anger management classes and Alcoholics Anonymous sessions.
A Trinidad court also ordered that the accused wife beater, Arvin Gokool, stay away from his wife, Alliyah Ali who was left with a badly bruised.
Gokool of San Fernando was charged with assault by beating. He admitted to beating his wife in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court..
The accused man also beat his wife with a mop handle, forcing her to seek treatment at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Court records show that Gokool had been convicted in the past for larceny of a dwelling house and was also charged with possession of marijuana.
Gokool admitted that he used illegal drugs in the past and for three years he had been using alcohol.
He was granted TT$25,000 bail with a surety and was ordered by the court to attend Alcoholics Anonymous sessions, provide proof of his attendance to the court and visit the National Family Services for anger management sessions.
Gokool will return to court on May 31.
