Dwayne Bravo appointed head coach of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for ILT20

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Legendary cricketer Dwayne Bravo, renowned for his flair on the field and strategic acumen, has been appointed head coach of the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for the highly anticipated 2025 International League T20 (ILT20).

At 41, Bravo embarks on this new chapter of his cricketing journey, bringing his unparalleled expertise and charisma to the UAE-based franchise. This marks a significant milestone in Bravo’s illustrious post-retirement career, which continues to shape the global cricketing landscape.

Coaching a star-studded West Indies line-up

The Knight Riders’ squad boasts a dazzling line-up of West Indies talent, including fellow Trinidadians Sunil Narine and Terrance Hinds, alongside powerhouses Andre Russell, Roston Chase, and Jason Holder. With Bravo at the helm, the team aims to harness this remarkable talent pool to dominate the ILT20 stage.

Having retired from all forms of cricket in September 2024, Bravo remains the most prolific wicket-taker in T20 history, with an astonishing 631 wickets in 582 matches. His storied playing career has seamlessly transitioned into a successful stint in cricket management and coaching.

Before taking on this role, Bravo served as a vital member of the Chennai Super Kings coaching staff in the IPL and played a pivotal role as a batting consultant for Afghanistan during the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. Under his guidance, Afghanistan achieved a historic semi-final berth, further solidifying Bravo’s reputation as a transformative figure in cricket.
