SANDY BAY, Hanover — Team Palladium claimed victory in the pro-am tournament that kicked off the 57th Jamaica Open Golf Championship at the Tryall Golf Club on Saturday.
The winning team, led by professional golfer Scott Milum and featuring amateurs Carlyle Hudson, Diane Hudson, and George Hugh, scored an impressive 51.25 points, edging out the second-place team by exactly two points.
Milum expressed his delight with both the win and the scenic course. “It’s an incredible place to play,” he said. “This is my first time in Jamaica, and I’m looking forward to the tournament. The area is beautiful, and the resort has been wonderful, taking excellent care of us. Everyone we’ve met has been fantastic.”
Podium finishes
The runner-up team, led by pro golfer Joshua Seales, finished with 53.25 points, while Patrick Coles’ team claimed third place with 53.375 points. Jamaica Fibre Glass Products, featuring Metry Seaga, Mike Glieckman, Andre Foote, and Marcus Mohn, took home the corporate prize with 55.25 points.
The tournament also awarded “closest to the pin” honors to Benjamin Martin on hole two, Wayne Chai Chong on hole four, and Chris McLean on hole 10.
Now, attention shifts to the main event, the three-day 57th Jamaica Open, which tees off at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 10. Defending champion Andrew Arft was scheduled to begin his round at 10:40 a.m.
