English League 1 club Stevenage has signed Trinidad and Tobago international Daniel Phillips on a two-year contract.
The 23-year-old midfielder joins from Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone, where he played over 50 matches in the past two seasons.
Stevenage manager Alex Revell expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition. “Dan brings new qualities to our central midfield,” Revell stated on the club’s website. “We have tracked him ever since he left Watford two years ago – it’s taken a while, but we are delighted to get him over the line.”
International experience
Phillips has earned 12 caps for the Trinidad and Tobago men’s national team since making his international debut three years ago. He was recently part of the squad during the CONCACAF qualifiers for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, adding valuable international experience to his resume.
Stevenage finished ninth in the 24-team League 1 table last season, accumulating 71 points with 19 wins, 13 losses, and 14 draws. The club looks to strengthen its squad with Phillips as they aim for a higher finish in the upcoming season.
