In a dominant display, Newcastle United secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Burnley at Lancashire FA County Ground in the Women’s National League, Northern Premier Division on Sunday, with Reggae striker Paige Bailey-Gayle shining once again.
Bailey-Gayle showcased her prowess in the 70th minute, netting her third goal in two games for Newcastle. Displaying both power and precision, the Jamaican drilled home an indirect free-kick to double Newcastle’s lead after her teammate Kacie Elson broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, following a defensive first half.
This goal marked Bailey-Gayle’s third since officially joining the club last week, following her debut performance against the Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Adding to Newcastle’s tally, teammate Jas McQuade, who came on as a late substitute, sealed the victory with a goal in the 85th minute, securing another significant win for the league leaders.
With this result, Newcastle maintains its position at the top of the standings with 37 points from 14 games, demonstrating their dominance in the league.
