FC Cincinnati is gearing up for its maiden appearance in the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, following their triumph in the 2023 Supporters’ Shield, marking their first major achievement in Major League Soccer history.
In the official draw conducted on Wednesday night, FC Cincinnati was paired with Jamaican outfit Cavalier F.C. for Round One of the prestigious competition.
The upcoming clash will see FC Cincinnati engage in a two-legged battle against Cavalier F.C., with the first leg taking place in Kingston, Jamaica, and the second leg hosted at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati. Season Ticket Members will enjoy the added benefit of having the first home match included in their season ticket membership.
Comprehensive schedule to be released soon
CONCACAF will release the comprehensive schedule for Round One, encompassing kick-off times and other crucial details, in the days ahead.
For FC Cincinnati enthusiasts who are not Season Ticket Members, an opportunity to secure tickets will be extended through the Orange & Blue Reserve when ticket sales commence in January 2024. Detailed ticket information will be unveiled at a later date.
Cavalier F.C., similarly making their inaugural appearance in the competition, secured their place in the Champions Cup by finishing as runners-up in the 2023 Caribbean Cup. Currently placed sixth in the early stages of the Jamaican Premier League season, the Kingston-based club aims to make a lasting impression on the continental stage.
Winner progresses to Round of 16
The winner of the Cincinnati-Cavalier showdown will progress to the Round of 16 and face the victor between Mexican powerhouse C.F. Monterrey and Guatemalan side Comunicaciones F.C.
