King Charles and Holness are seen shaking hands and exchanging brief words in a Royal Family YouTube video.

During the meeting, Holness hailed the late Queen and expressed the sentiments of Jamaicans.

“Jamaicans have a deep love and respect,” he said.

Other prime ministers who met with the king were Justin Trudeau of Canada, Anthony Albanese of Australia, Philip Davis of The Bahamas, and New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness along with the island’s Governor General Sir Patrick Allen are in London for Monday’s funeral of Queen Elizabeth.

The condolence book at Lancaster House in London which was opened on Saturday was signed by Holness in tribute to the queen.

“As I moved through the city of London and saw the streets lined with hundreds of ordinary citizens, who queued for many hours, many of whom journeyed from all over the country to pay their respects, it was clear that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, was a profoundly beloved monarch,” Holness tweeted earlier today.

“Queen Elizabeth’s passing ushers in a new era for both the people of the United Kingdom and for the rest of the world, who knew only one head of the state for 70 unbroken years. Her legacy is vast, and her mark on the world will be talked about long into the future,” he added.
