Founded by legendary four-time Olympic champion Michael Johnson, this ground-breaking league is set to redefine global track competition with its innovative format, jaw-dropping prize money, and star-studded roster.

The inaugural season kicks off in Kingston, Jamaica, in April 2025, promising fans an unparalleled “Festival of Speed”. Tickets range from US$10 to US$100, offering affordable access to the world’s best athletes on an electrifying stage.

The premier stage for speed

Michael Johnson, the league’s commissioner, expressed his excitement as the league gains momentum ahead of its debut season.

“Grand Slam Track continues to build momentum as we get closer to our inaugural 2025 season,” Johnson shared. “The attention and recognition this league is gaining is incredible, and it continues to be clear that the best in the world want to be a part of it. As we continue to bring in top-tier talent from across the globe, this platform is becoming the premier stage for athletes to showcase their speed.”

Johnson described the upcoming season as something truly special, adding, “With each new addition, we’re raising the bar and creating something truly unique—Festival of Speed—for fans to enjoy.”

A star-studded line-up

The league will feature 48 elite athletes, dubbed Grand Slam Track Racers, including global superstars like Sydney McLaughlin-LevroneFred KerleyGrant FisherRoshawn Clarke, and Marileidy Paulino. The roster also includes Jamaican sensations Ackera Nugent and Rushell Clayton, ensuring strong local representation.

Fans can catch these luminaries in action across Kingston, Miami, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles throughout the season. Complementing the Racers will be the Grand Slam Track Challengers, a group of 48 additional athletes handpicked by the Racing Committee for their compelling performances and potential.

Revolutionizing track and field

Grand Slam Track promises a head-to-head competition format where strategy and placement, rather than times, take center stage. Athletes will compete in one of six categories, such as sprints, hurdles, or distance events, over two races per Slam.

With no pacing lights or rabbits, each event emphasizes raw talent and competition. Winners will take home a staggering $100,000 in prize money, while even the eighth-place finisher earns $10,000. The league’s $12.6 million annual prize pool is set to elevate the sport to new heights.

Fan engagement at the forefront

Unlike traditional track events, Grand Slam Track allows athletes to race in customized kits designed in collaboration with their sponsors, removing bibs and hip numbers. The league has no exclusive shoe company sponsorship, ensuring a neutral platform for all stakeholders.

Johnson’s vision, supported by over $30 million in investment, aims to expand track and field’s global appeal. The venture is spearheaded by Winners Alliance, Johnson’s strategic operating partner, ensuring cutting-edge promotion and fan engagement.

“Our goal is to develop better engagement with fans by promoting track and field’s biggest stars and reaching new audiences with unique, innovative storytelling,” Johnson said.

Fans eager to witness history in the making can secure their tickets for all four Slam events now at GrandSlamTrack.com. Whether in Jamaica or beyond, don’t miss the chance to experience this trailblazing celebration of speed and athleticism.
