The 28-year-old is the only West Indies player in the 12-member squad which is captained by England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt and includes four players from champions Australia and three from losing finalists South Africa.

Ramharack, who has played 22 T20 Internationals, grabbed five wickets at 10 runs apiece from three games in the just-concluded campaign in South Africa.

“All at Cricket West Indies are proud of Karishma’s selection to the most valuable team of the recent ICC Women’s World Cup, held in South Africa,” said Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt.

“Her work ethic and competitiveness are perfect examples of what is ahead for the future of West Indies cricket.”

Karishma Ramharack was the leading wicket-taker in yet another disappointing campaign for West Indies which saw them fail to reach the semi-finals, after finishing third in Group 2 with two wins from four matches.

Player-of-the Tournament, Australian Ashleigh Gardner, who finished with 110 runs at 36.66 and 10 wickets at 12.50 apiece, has been named in the MVP squad while 19-year-old batsman Richa Ghosh is the only Indian in the lineup.

SQUAD – *Nat Sciver-Brunt (England), Tazmin Brits (South Africa), +Alyssa Healy (Australia), Laura Wolvaardt, Ashleigh Gardner (Australia), Richa Ghosh (India), Sophie Ecclestone (England), Karishma Ramharack (West Indies), Shabnim Ismail (South Africa), Darcie Brown (Australia), Megan Schutt (Australia), 12th player – Orla Prendergast (Ireland)
