Jamaican Super Heavyweight boxer Ricardo “Big12” Brown enjoyed a day off from the ring on Monday but spent time watching videos of his opponent, Satish Kumar of India, according to his trainer Dewith Fraser.

Brown, the first Jamaican boxing representative since the 1996 Atlanta Games, will take to the ring on Thursday at the Kokugikan Arena in the round of 16 bout.

“Today (Monday) is rest day,” Fraser said.

“So massage, ice bath and watching fights. We have quite a few videos of his opponent, a silver medallist in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2014 quarter-finalist Asian Games,” he noted.

The trainer also said that Ricardo Brown is ready, confident and is both physically and mentally aware of the task at hand.

“Our team is confident but taking all precautions to get the win.”
