With both teams displaying resilience in their performances, the match remains finely balanced, setting the stage for an intriguing showdown.

As the West Indies Academy prepares to resume from their overnight score of 96-4 in response to the Harpy Eagles’ total of 175 all out, the outcome hangs in the balance. Wednesday’s play witnessed Joshua James shining with figures of 4-43, leading the Academy’s bowling attack to restrict Guyana below the 200-run mark. Johann Layne (2-27) and Joshua Bishop (2-22) also played pivotal roles in stifling the Harpy Eagles’ batting line-up.

Absence of substantial contributions from other batters

RJ Ali Mohammed led the scoring for the Harpy Eagles with 30 runs, supported by Matthew Nandu (28), Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair (24 each). However, the absence of substantial contributions from other batters prevented Guyana from posting a formidable total.

Facing a similar challenge, the West Indies Academy relied on Rashawn Worrell’s unbeaten 34 and Joshua Bishop’s 33 to stabilize their innings. With the pair set to resume their innings, the Academy aims to seize the initiative and establish a commanding position on Day 2.

Kevin Sinclair’s impressive bowling performance of 4-32 has been instrumental in keeping Guyana in contention, adding to the intrigue of the ongoing encounter between the Harpy Eagles and the Academy.
