Frazsiers Whip suffer heavy 7-1 loss to Mexico’s Tigres UANL

Frazsiers Whip endured a torrid evening at the National Stadium on Wednesday, as Mexican powerhouse Tigres UANL Femenil handed the Jamaican side a 7-1 defeat in their third consecutive loss in the CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup.

The Group A encounter saw Tigres UANL dominating from the outset, with Ana Dias opening the scoring in the sixth minute. Dias was followed by Ana Seica (14th), Thembi Kgatlana (23rd), Alison Gonzalez (60th), and Belen Cruz (62nd), before a late brace from Stephany Mayor (81st, 90th+8) capped off the emphatic win for the six-time Liga MX Femenil champions.

Davia Richards provided the lone moment of joy for Frazsiers Whip with a well-taken goal in the 55th minute, marking the team’s first goal of the tournament, though it only served as a consolation as they were already down 3-0 at the time.

Top of Group A

With this latest result, Tigres UANL climbed to the top of Group A with six points, while Frazsiers Whip remain at the bottom without a point after three games. The Jamaican side finds itself struggling in a tough group that also includes NY/NJ Gotham (three points), Alajuelense (three points), and CF Monterrey (three points).

The match quickly got out of hand for Frazsiers Whip, who fell behind early when Dias unleashed a powerful right-footed strike from the center of the box. Minutes later, Seica rose above the Jamaican defense to head home from a corner kick, doubling Tigres UANL’s advantage.

Things went from bad to worse as Kgatlana extended the lead before halftime, exploiting space inside the 18-yard box to drive home a third for the visitors.

Something to celebrate

Frazsiers Whip briefly rallied after the break, with Richards firing in from an acute angle in the 55th minute, giving the home crowd something to celebrate. But their joy was short-lived, as Gonzalez converted a penalty just five minutes later after being brought down inside the area.

Two minutes after that, Cruz slotted home from a well-weighted Dias cross to make it 5-1, effectively sealing the outcome. The final blows came from former Mexico captain Stephany Mayor, who produced a brilliant volley in the 81st minute before rounding off the scoring in stoppage time with another precise finish.

Looking ahead, Tigres UANL will host LD Alajuelense on October 2 in Mexico, while Frazsiers Whip face another daunting challenge as they welcome NWSL champions NJ/NY Gotham to the National Stadium on the same day.
