A highly anticipated showdown between two of Jamaica’s top netball stars will headline the sixth round of the Super Netball League (SNL) on Saturday in Australia.
Star goal-shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard is set to face fellow Jamaican and defensive standout Shamera Sterling-Humphrey as the West Coast Fever host reigning champions Adelaide Thunderbirds at the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.
Fowler-Nembhard and Sterling-Humphrey are just two of the six Sunshine Girlz, as the Jamaican national team is affectionately known, who will compete in what promises to be one of the most exciting contests of the season.
The Fever have been dominant this season, winning all five of their matches and leading the eight-team standings with 20 points, boasting a superior goal difference over the Melbourne Mavericks. Every team the Fever has faced, except the Mavericks, has been defeated by a margin of more than 10 goals. However, the Thunderbirds aim to avoid a similar fate against the league’s best offense.
