Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially begun its search for a new chief executive officer as the tenure of current CEO Johnny Grave comes to an end.
Grave, who has held the position since 2017, is set to depart at the end of November, marking the end of his seven-year stint with the regional cricket body. The new hire, however, will not assume duties until the first quarter of 2025, CWI announced in a press release Thursday.
In the interim, an executive manager will lead the organization until the new CEO takes office.
CWI President Dr. Kishore Shallow expressed enthusiasm about the future direction of the organisation. “This is an exciting and transformative time for Cricket West Indies. With the ongoing enhancement of our human capital, we are extremely excited to complement this with the recruitment of a new CEO,” Dr. Shallow stated.
The significance of the new CEO’s role
He highlighted the significance of the new CEO’s role in executing the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, adding, “We expect the new CEO to lead a high-performance environment, drive innovation, and reflect both CWI’s and the region’s values.”
Grave was appointed by former CWI chairman Dave Cameron, succeeding Michael Muirhead in 2017. As CWI now prepares for new leadership, the search process is open to qualified candidates. Interested applicants are required to submit their curriculum vitae and a cover letter to recruitment@cricketwestindies.org, addressed to the Human Resources Manager at Cricket West Indies in Antigua. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. Antigua time on September 30, 2024.
The new CEO will be tasked with navigating the fast-evolving landscape of international cricket while capitalizing on the immense opportunities available for the West Indies in the sport’s growing industry.
