Miramar, FL -The National League of Cities Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) will host their 2024 summer conference from July 17th-19th.   The conference centered on women in local government will be held at the Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

This year's theme, "Uplifting Women: Leadership, Safety, Success," focuses on empowering women in local government through engaging sessions, leadership development, and networking opportunities. City of Miramar Commissioner Yvette Colbourne stated.

The event will cover several key sessions including: affordable housing strategies, domestic violence protection, youth empowerment, housing access, and resources for families and older residents.

Confirmed speakers include former Senator, Nan Rich, Mayor of Broward County, and Dr. Linda Parker, President, and CEO of Women in Distress of Broward County, and Monica Cepero, Broward County Administrator and Clarence E. Anthony, CEO and Executive Director of the National League of Cities. Special Guest Speaker for the luncheon on Thursday July 18 is Carmen Ortiz-McGhee, Chief Operating Officer for National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC).

City of Miramar Commissioner and President of the National League of Cities Women in Municipal Government (WIMG), Yvette Colbourne emphasizes, "This conference is a crucial platform for women in local government to uplift and empower each other, ensuring we continue to lead our communities with strength and resilience."
