This latest squad features two notable changes from the triumphant team that edged out England 2-1 in “The Rivalry” series. All-rounder Justin Greaves and wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo replace Hayden Walsh Jr. and Jewel Andrew. Notably, Andrew will hone his skills in spinning conditions as part of a specialized batting camp at India’s Chennai Academy, a key initiative to develop the region’s emerging talents.
Greaves and Jangoo: Rising stars join the fold
Justin Greaves earned his recall following a sensational streak in the CG United Super50 tournament, where he etched his name into the record books with three consecutive List A centuries. Adding to his accolades, Greaves struck a magnificent maiden Test century against Bangladesh earlier this year.
Joining him is Amir Jangoo, whose batting brilliance in the Super50 competition saw him amass 446 runs at an astounding average of 89.20, topping the charts as the leading scorer.
Head Coach Daren Sammy praised their inclusions: “Greaves is capable of batting anywhere in the top six and brings that genuine all-round ability we need at this stage. Jangoo’s flexibility and prolific performances bring another dimension to our batting line-up.”
