Castries, St. Lucia – Facing an uphill battle in their T20 series against England, West Indies captain Rovman Powell is rallying his team as they head into a crucial third match at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground on Thursday.
With the Windies trailing 0-2 in the best-of-five series, Powell emphasized that each game ahead is effectively a final if they hope to avoid their first home series defeat since 2023.
“This series is still alive for us, and it’s about taking it one game at a time,” Powell told reporters on Wednesday. “We just need that win tomorrow to set up an exciting weekend and get back into the fight.” Powell noted that despite the two losses, the team remains “in good spirits and in the right frame of mind” to challenge their formidable opponents.
