Volcanoes extend winning streak as Harpy Eagles, Pride and Hurricanes also triumph in West Indies Championship Round Three

In an action-packed Round Three of the West Indies Championship, the Windward Islands Volcanoes continued their impressive form by securing their third consecutive win, while the Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, and Leeward Islands Hurricanes also emerged victorious in their respective matches.

The Windward Islands Volcanoes displayed a dominant performance as they defeated the Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners by eight wickets. Alick Athanaze's outstanding unbeaten knock of 58, supported by Jeremy Solozano's 42 not out, guided the Volcanoes to their target of 125 runs with ease.

The team's cohesive effort on the field ensured another convincing victory, extending their winning streak in the championship.

Second win of the competition

Barbados Pride showcased their resilience and determination as they secured their second win of the competition with a six-wicket victory over the Jamaica Scorpions.

Roshon Primus played a pivotal role with his impressive knock of 43 runs, while Kevin Wickham and Shayne Moseley contributed valuable runs to help Pride chase down a target of 173 runs.

Reigning champions Guyana Harpy Eagles delivered a record-breaking performance, registering a commanding 221-run victory over CWI Academy at Coolidge Cricket Ground. The victory marked Harpy Eagles' first win of the campaign, with veteran left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul playing a crucial role in dismantling the opposition with his two wickets.

Keacy Carty's impressive half-century

In another thrilling encounter, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes secured their second win of the campaign with a four-wicket victory over Trinidad and Tobago Red Force. Keacy Carty's impressive half-century and Jewel Andrew's entertaining knock propelled Hurricanes to victory as they successfully chased down a target of 162 runs.

Despite facing challenges and fierce competition, each team showcased their talent and determination, highlighting the competitive nature of West Indies cricket in the championship. The performances in Round Three set the stage for further excitement and intense battles as the tournament progresses.
