US pledges $15.8 million for Caribbean climate resilience

US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, leading a delegation at the 46th CARICOM meeting in Guyana, announced a significant allocation of $15.8 million to address climate and biodiversity threats in the Caribbean.

Bolstering partnership

This funding, part of a broader $43 million initiative by the United States Agency for International Development, strengthens collaboration with CARICOM to enhance coastal-marine biodiversity and build resilience in Caribbean communities.

Tackling climate challenges

This pledge symbolizes joint efforts between the US and CARICOM to confront climate challenges.

 By combining resources and expertise, both entities aim to mitigate the impact of climate change, ensuring a sustainable future for the Caribbean.
