US deports Dominican man wanted for homicide

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents in Boston, Massachusetts, have deported a 28-year-old Dominican Republic national, wanted in his home country on homicide charges.

ICE reported on Wednesday that deportation officers from ERO Boston successfully removed Frank Maiky Baez-Guerrero from the United States, sending him back to the Dominican Republic to face justice.

Baez-Guerrero had unlawfully entered the United States, bypassing admission, inspection, or parole by US immigration officials.

A threat to Massachusetts communities

ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons emphasized that Baez-Guerrero posed a significant threat to Massachusetts communities.

Lyons stated that Baez-Guerrero attempted to evade justice in his native country by hiding in the United States.

ERO Boston remains committed to aggressively arresting and removing the most egregious noncitizen offenders.

Arrest and legal proceedings

Authorities arrested Baez-Guerrero on December 10, 2021, and charged him with possession with intent to distribute Class A heroin in Newburyport.

The charge remains pending. ERO Boston deportation officers apprehended him again on March 21, 2024, near his residence in Saugus, issuing a notice for him to appear before a Department of Justice (DOJ) immigration judge.
