In a recent development, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the deportation of four undocumented noncitizens to the Dominican Republic.
These individuals, sought by authorities for serious crimes including homicide and armed robbery, were apprehended by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Miami deportation officers.
Aneudy Mercedes: Wanted for Homicide
Aneudy Mercedes,37, was apprehended by US Border Patrol agents on February 8 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Mercedes, wanted by law enforcement authorities for homicide, was subsequently transported to the Ramey Border Patrol Station. Following legal proceedings, an immigration judge ordered his deportation on March 7, 2024.
Yohan Alfonso Mercedes-Flores: Accused of attempted murder and armed robbery
Another individual, Yohan Alfonso Mercedes-Flores, 23, was arrested on February 8 in San Juan by Border Patrol agents.
Mercedes-Flores, wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery with a firearm, was transferred to ERO Miami’s custody on February 10.
After being detained in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, he was later transferred to the Krome Service Processing Centre and issued a notice and order of expedited removal on February 27.
Keli Joel Aguero: Wanted for homicide
Keli Joel Aguero, 30, was apprehended by ERO Miami on February 27 in San Juan.
Aguero, wanted by Dominican Republic law enforcement authorities for homicide, was detained in Guaynabo upon arrest.
ICE discovered Aguero’s status as a wanted individual on February 8, subsequently issuing a notice and order of expedited removal on February 27. Aguero was later transferred to the Krome Service Processing Center on March 5.
Frank Clinton Ramirez Mora: Alleged homicide offender
Frank Clinton Ramirez Mora, aged 30, was arrested by ERO Miami on February 27 in San Juan.
Ramirez Mora, wanted by Dominican Republic law enforcement authorities for homicide, was issued a notice and order of expedited removal on the same day.
He was subsequently transported to the Krome Service Processing Centre on March 6.
Ensuring community safety
Commenting on these actions, ERO Miami Field Office Director Garrett Ripa emphasized the importance of collaboration with local, state, and international law enforcement agencies.
“ERO Miami plays a key role in keeping our communities safe when we remove fugitives wanted for egregious offenses to their home country,” stated Ripa.
“We will continue to collaborate with local, state, and international law enforcement agencies to remove dangerous individuals who have no respect for the laws of our country or the laws of their home countries,” he added.
