Antiguan law enforcement authorities reported that a Jamaican woman, who escaped from the Department of Immigration, has been captured.

Donnalee Samantha Salmon was one of two Jamaican nationals who had been on the run for the past week, after escaping the Immigration Department’s Detention Centre.

Reports are that their method of escape involved breaking a bathroom window.

Sentencing of Howell

Tiffanie Stephanie Howell, 30, was handed a seven-month jail sentence by the Magistrate Court on Tuesday for escaping lawful custody.

She pleaded guilty to the charge that carries a maximum one-year jail term.

Awaiting deportation

Both Salmon and Howell had been awaiting deportation to their homeland, Jamaica, at the time of their escape.

Salmon is expected to appear in court later this week.
