T&T: Gary Griffith files defamation lawsuit against National Security Minister

In a bold move, former Trinidad & Tobago Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has filed a defamation lawsuit against National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds.

The lawsuit seeks to prevent the senior government minister or anyone associated with him from speaking, further publishing, or making other similar defamatory comments about him.

State-run tv allegations

The lawsuit stems from Minister Hinds’ televised statements last October, where he raised concerns about Griffith’s performance as commissioner of police.

Initiated on January 18th, the legal battle officially began when Griffith’s legal team filed the lawsuit, serving it to Minister Hinds a day later.
