T&T citizens urged to get vaccinated amidst latest COVID-19 deaths

Trinidad & Tobago, health authorities are sounding the alarm as the nation grapples with COVID-19-related deaths, with five fatalities reported since December 28, 2023.

Vaccines expire

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has revealed that approximately 800,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had to be discarded in 2023 due to expiration.

Flu season

With one flu-related death already recorded, Trinidad & Tobago faces the looming threat of influenza alongside the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

The influenza season is expected to linger until May this year, necessitating proactive measures to combat the dual threat and protect public health.
