Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley announced that the country and Venezuela have successfully formalized their agreement about the profit-sharing arrangement for exporting gas from Venezuela’s Dragon gas field.

Minister Stuart Young inks the deal

Prime Minister Rowley posted a photograph on social media capturing the moment when Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, affixed his signature to the historic agreement alongside Venezuelan officials.

Paving the way for a thriving partnership

Prime Minister Rowley expressed his enthusiasm, highlighting that this agreement has swung open the door to a promising new commercial frontier, one that holds immense potential for the people of Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela alike.

The backdrop to this significant development is the recent decision by the United States to waive sanctions against Venezuela in January. This decision has cleared the way for the twin-island republic of Trinidad & Tobago to move forward with the development of the Dragon Gas field
