The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament, claimed their 14th Super50 title in a commanding fashion by defeating the Leeward Islands Hurricanes by seven wickets, employing the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in a rain-affected final at the Brian Lara Stadium on Saturday.

In a match reduced to 43 overs per side due to rain interruptions, the Red Force showcased their dominance by dismissing the Hurricanes for a mere 135 in the 42nd over. Fast bowler Terrance Hinds and veteran off-spinner Sunil Narine spearheaded the Red Force's attack, both claiming three wickets each.

Jahmar Hamilton was the top-scorer for the Hurricanes with a valiant 62 off 102 deliveries, while Hayden Walsh (20) was the only other batsman to offer any resistance.

Revised target of 138 runs

Chasing a revised target of 138 runs, Red Force's captain Darren Bravo led the charge with a brisk 40 off 35 deliveries, ending as the tournament's leading run-scorer with 416 runs at an impressive average of 83. Left-handed Nicholas Pooran played a sensational, unbeaten innings of 39 runs off just 20 balls to seal victory for Red Force in the 24th over.

Captain Darren Bravo praised the team's performance, emphasizing their control of the power play and the effectiveness of their spinners during the latter part of the innings. He celebrated his 200th List A game with the Super50 title win.

Hurricanes captain Alzarri Joseph acknowledged his team's subpar batting display, lamenting the inability to score enough runs in a 50-over game. Despite the defeat, he found positives in the overall performance during the tournament and looked ahead to future improvements.

The Hurricanes faced early difficulties as Kieran Powell was bowled by Shannon Gabriel for eight runs in the fourth over. Their leading scorer, Justin Greaves, retired hurt on 11 at the start of the seventh over, further denting their chances. Sunil Narine's spin accounted for crucial wickets, triggering a slide that saw three wickets fall for just three runs. Despite Hamilton's valiant effort, the Hurricanes struggled to build partnerships.

Narine finished as the joint leading wicket-taker

Terrance Hinds claimed the vital wicket of Hayden Walsh, while Narine finished as the joint leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 20 scalps.

In reply, Red Force's opening pair of Joshua Da Silva and Kjorn Ottley provided a solid foundation with a 45-run partnership. Leg-spinner Hayden Walsh dismissed Ottley in the 17th over and later bowled Bravo for a run-a-ball 40. Nicholas Pooran's aggressive batting brought the victory home quickly, supported by Jason Mohammed.

Narine, honored as the Man of the Match, expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance and domination in the final two games, marking his final domestic 50-over match on a high note.
