The Titchfield High School Alumni Association South Florida Chapter has made a significant contribution to their alma mater, donating US$43,000 (approximately J$6.7 million) to support student education and facility upgrades.

The donation was presented on Monday during a brief ceremony at the school, where Paul Perry, president of the Florida Chapter, along with two other alumni, handed over the cheque to vice principal Sheryl Horne-Mair.

Speaking at the event, Perry highlighted the association’s growth since its establishment in 2000, when it started with just 15 members. By 2025, membership had exceeded 1,000, drawing support from alumni based in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

“We’ve consistently made donations to the school and focus primarily on fundraising for projects identified by the administration,” Perry said. “This year, we’re contributing US$43,000 towards the scholarship program and general funding for the library at Titchfield.”

The donation will directly benefit five students, each receiving US$2,000 in scholarships to support their education. The remaining funds will be used to upgrade the school’s library, transforming it into a modern study area equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Perry emphasized the collaborative effort of the alumni community in making such contributions possible, with members participating in various fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
