The Guyana police have arrested an 18-year-old woman after her 27-year-old husband died from stab wounds on Sunday at Macknab, Lima Sands on Essequibo Coast.

Police have identified the victim as Anthony Shivlall, also known as Davie.

According to reports the incident occurred following an argument between the couple who had earlier attended the birthday party of the wife’s grandmother, Bernadine Williams on Saturday night.

The grandmother said the couple had an argument and she went home. She said she was dancing inside her yard when she saw her granddaughter return.

The woman said her granddaughter went into the lower flat of the house and allegedly use a knife to stab her husband in the chest.

She ran from the scene and the police said acting on information they arrested the teenager at her mother’s house.

The motive for the killing has not been disclosed.
