TAA opens dedicated St. Kitts office as Anguilla highlights regional airlift

Trans Anguilla Airways (TAA) is strengthening its presence in St. Kitts and Nevis with the opening of a dedicated office and locally based team at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
The Anguilla-owned and -operated airline will officially open the office today, with Anguilla Director of Tourism Jameel Rochester describing the investment as a step toward improving regional air connectivity.
“TAA’s expanded presence represents much more than the opening of an airport office,” Rochester said. “It demonstrates confidence in the market, a commitment to passengers and a long-term investment in moving people more effectively among our Caribbean destinations.”
The new office is expected to enhance customer support and allow TAA to work more closely with tourism officials, airport authorities and travel trade partners in St. Kitts and Nevis.
TAA Managing Director Vernol Gumbs said the airline has longstanding ties to the Federation.
“St. Kitts is more than another destination within our network,” Gumbs said. “We have longstanding ties to the Federation and consider it a second home to TAA.”
He said establishing a permanent office and local team reflects TAA’s long-term commitment to the market and will provide passengers with direct support while strengthening relationships with tourism and travel partners.
Rochester, who represents Anguilla on the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Airlift Committee, said reliable and affordable regional transportation remains important to the Caribbean’s tourism competitiveness and economic development.
“The regional air connectivity challenge will not be solved overnight or by one airline, one route or one agreement,” he said. “It will take sustained cooperation and a series of practical advances.”
TAA operates scheduled and charter services linking Anguilla with several nearby destinations, including Antigua, Nevis, St. Barths, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and Tortola.
The airline's regional network also provides additional options for travelers connecting to international services operated by airlines including American Airlines and BermudAir, subject to schedules and individual booking requirements.
TAA has also recently become available through a global distribution system (GDS), increasing its visibility among travel advisers, tour operators and travelers.
The airline is also preparing to introduce the Beechcraft King Air C90 to its fleet. Training and regulatory certification processes are underway, with the additional aircraft type expected to provide greater operational flexibility as TAA develops its regional services.
“For small island destinations, every dependable connection matters,” Rochester said. “Regional airlift supports visitor arrivals and spending, commerce, family connections and multi-destination travel.”
The TAA expansion comes as Anguilla works to strengthen its broader air access. American Airlines continues to operate service between Miami and Anguilla, while BermudAir is resuming and expanding winter service from the United States and Canada, including new service from Toronto and Tampa/St. Petersburg, as well as service from Boston, Newark and Baltimore-Washington.
TAA will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open its St. Kitts office at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 30, at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
