SVG Air boosts flight services to Grenada

SVG Air is set to enhance its flight services to Grenada by adding a new Wednesday flight between Grenada and Carriacou starting on July 3, 2024.

The airline will deploy its 19-seat twin otter to manage the route effectively.

This addition expands the current flight schedule, which already includes service from Monday, Tuesday, and Friday to Sunday.

Boosting local tourism during key festivals

The introduction of the Wednesday flight is strategically timed to coincide with Grenada’s peak summer festivities.

This period includes the renowned Spicemas festival in August and the newly introduced Carriacou Carnival Cooldown, which takes place the weekend after Spicemas.

These events draw significant tourist attention, and the increased flight frequency will provide necessary transportation support, enhancing visitor experience and participation.

Enhancing travel experience and flexibility

Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, emphasized that the new service aims to improve the travel experience for both locals and tourists by offering greater flexibility and ease of travel between the islands.

The initiative is expected to play a vital role in boosting the tourism sector, particularly during the festive season, which is crucial for local economic growth.

Supporting local economies and cultural engagement

Tevin Andrews, Minister of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, highlighted the significant impact of the new flight service on the sister isles.

It not only enhances accessibility but also supports local businesses and boosts tourism, especially during key festive seasons like Spicemas.

Additionally, the service will promote the unique cultural charm and richness of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, attracting more visitors to explore these locales.

Seamless and scenic travel opportunities

The Grenada Tourism Authority assures travelers of a seamless journey aboard SVG Air’s reliable aircraft.

The 20-minute scenic flight is designed to cater to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, offering them a picturesque and efficient travel option between the islands.

This enhancement in service is a step forward in making inter-island travel more accessible and enjoyable for all visitors.
