A suspicious package discovered Monday morning at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center in downtown Miami prompted a swift evacuation of the building and a suspension of Metrorail and Metromover service, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say they were alerted to the package around 9:20 a.m. at the Government Center, located at 111 NW First St., one of the city's busiest transit and administrative hubs. The Miami-Dade bomb squad was immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate.
As a precaution, the entire Government Center area was evacuated, and Miami-Dade Transit suspended service on both the Metrorail and Metromover systems, causing significant disruptions for commuters.

"Government Center Station is closed. Metromover service remains suspended until further notice. Shuttle buses are available for customers needing to continue their trip on Metrorail. Please allow extra travel time. Additional updates will be provided as they become available." — @IRideMDT
