Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has been honored with an honorary degree by the esteemed Bells University of Technology OTA Ogun State, Nigeria. 

Dr. Gonsalves’ contributions to the field of Management Sciences have been acknowledged during a formal graduation ceremony hosted at the University’s BUPF International Conference Centre on Saturday.

Strengthening bonds through scholarship

Upon accepting the honorary Doctor of Sciences (D. Sc) in Management Sciences, Prime Minister Gonsalves underscored the importance of the award as a representation of the collective achievements of the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. 

Further cementing this bond, he announced that the All-Saints Medical School in St Vincent is offering additional tuition scholarships to Nigerian students, valued at US$10,000 each.

Diplomatic engagements

His accolade precedes Prime Minister Gonsalves’ scheduled diplomatic engagements, including a visit to Ghana for discussions with President Nana Akufo-Addo. 

This tour not only signifies the strengthening of international relations but also places a spotlight on the importance of educational diplomacy in Prime Minister Gonsalves’ tenure.
