Reggae Boy Bobby De Cordova-Reid stars in Fulham's stunning win over Arsenal

Fulham pulled off a remarkable victory against title contenders Arsenal, with Jamaican Reggae Boy Bobby De Cordova-Reid scoring a crucial second-half goal.

This defeat dealt a blow to Arsenal's hopes of topping the Premier League table.

The final score was 2-1 in favor of Fulham, marking Arsenal's second consecutive loss in a period of poor form. Although Arsenal started strong, taking the lead with Bukayo Saka's goal in the fifth minute, they struggled to convert their possession into more goals.

Brilliant play by Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal's early lead was the result of a brilliant play by Gabriel Martinelli, who provided a precise low cross for Saka to tap in. Despite their control of the ball, Arsenal failed to capitalize on further scoring opportunities.

Fulham fought back and found the equalizer in the 29th minute when Raul Jimenez displayed exceptional technique to finish a low cross from Tom Cairney. Jimenez's recent form has been impressive, with four goals in his last four EPL matches, a significant improvement from his previous record of four goals in 50 matches.

The second half saw both teams vying for a winning goal, with Fulham eventually taking the lead in the 59th minute. Bobby Reid capitalized on a corner that Arsenal failed to clear, scoring a vital goal. Reid, in good form, had been scoring consistently for both club and country.

Struggle in front of goal

Despite the introduction of striker Gabriel Jesus in the second half, Arsenal continued to struggle in front of goal, failing to register any meaningful shots on target. Fulham even had a chance to score a third goal, with Tom Cairney's shot saved in the 71st minute and Andreas Pereira hitting the crossbar in the 87th minute.

Arsenal, who were at the top of the table at Christmas, now find themselves in fourth place entering the new year. Liverpool leads the Premier League table with 45 points, followed closely by Leon Bailey's Aston Villa, with 42 points, due to an inferior goal difference. Arsenal's attacking woes continue despite the addition of Gabriel Jesus as a substitute.

This loss to Fulham marked Arsenal's first home defeat of the current season, highlighting their recent struggles in maintaining their early-season form.
