Raymon Reifer gets green light to resume bowling key deliveries following assessment

Barbados Pride and West Indies all-rounder Raymon Reifer has received clearance to resume bowling slower balls and cutters after his bowling action was assessed and found to be legal following an evaluation in England.

The 32-year-old left-arm pacer had been suspended by Cricket West Indies from delivering these specific deliveries when an independent assessor at Loughborough University, an accredited testing center for suspect bowling actions, initially deemed his action illegal after an incident during a West Indies Super50 Cup match between Pride and Windward Islands Volcanoes on October 25 of the previous year. During that match, Reifer conceded 35 runs in eight wicket-less overs.

Following the suspension, Reifer underwent remedial work and video footage of his bowling was sent to Loughborough for analysis. As a result of the assessment, he has now been granted clearance to resume bowling slower balls and cutters.

An opportune time

Reifer's return to full bowling capabilities comes at an opportune time, as he has been named in the Barbados Pride squad for the first three matches of the upcoming West Indies Championship, set to commence in early February and run until late April.
