Police Commissioner Chester Williams has confirmed the involvement of a prominent attorney and member of Belize’s primary opposition party, the United Democratic Party (UDP), in assisting law enforcement with their investigations into rape allegations brought forth by two women.

The incident, which sent shockwaves through the community, is said to have transpired in the early hours of last Friday at the attorney’s residence.

This disconcerting event followed a night of socializing at a well-known local establishment.

Complaints prompt police involvement

Promptly responding to the distressing situation, both women involved filed official reports with the Belize Police Department.

Their actions set in motion a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.

Commissioner Williams disclosed that investigators have not only taken statements from the two women but have also conducted thorough interviews with the attorney at the center of the allegations.
