The Phoenix Suns continued their impressive run by defeating the struggling Miami Heat 118-105, extending Miami's woes with their seventh consecutive loss on Monday.

Eric Gordon was the star off the bench for the Suns, scoring 23 points, while Devin Booker contributed 22 points to secure the victory. Kevin Durant added 20 points, and Bradley Beal had 19, with each of them dishing out seven assists for the Suns. This win marked the second time in 17 seasons that the Suns have swept the Heat, with the previous instance occurring in the 2020-21 season when Phoenix reached the NBA Finals.

Booker expressed the importance of getting wins, stating, "Trying to get wins, that's the name of the game. We have some things to figure out defensively and we'll do that. This was a good win today, on a back-to-back, against a really good team."

Built a significant lead

The Suns, who recently posted an 8-2 record in their last 10 games, built a significant lead, stretching up to 28 points. They entered the final quarter with a commanding 100-74 lead, but Miami mounted a late comeback, reducing the deficit to 115-105 with 1:33 left. However, Miami failed to score again, sealing the victory for the Suns.

Jimmy Butler was the top scorer for Miami with 26 points, but it wasn't enough to halt their seven-game losing streak. Just two weeks ago, the Heat were riding high with a 24-16 record and ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference. Now, they find themselves at 24-23, slipping into the play-in tournament range, trailing Indiana by three games in the loss column for the sixth and final guaranteed playoff spot.

Terry Rozier contributed 21 points, and Tyler Herro added 17 for Miami.

Suns' Bradley Beal played with a mask to protect his broken nose, while the team lost starter Grayson Allen in the first half to a sprained right ankle. Coach Frank Vogel confirmed that X-rays were negative.

48 bench points

The Suns showcased their depth with 48 bench points, impressing coach Vogel, who said, "Proud of those guys. That's what it should look like on the second night of a back-to-back."

This marks Miami's first seven-game losing streak since the 2007-08 season, and it's an unfamiliar situation for a franchise that has enjoyed considerable success in recent years. Coach Erik Spoelstra acknowledged the challenging times the team is facing and emphasized the need to navigate through them together.

The Suns will face the Brooklyn Nets next, while the Heat will host the Sacramento Kings, hoping to turn their fortunes around. Both games are on Wednesday.
