Pakistan ended an eight-match losing streak in away Test cricket with an emphatic victory over the West Indies on Wednesday, wrapping up the second Test at Queen's Park Oval with little resistance to square the two-match series at 1-1.

After dismissing the hosts for a modest 117 early on the penultimate day, Pakistan comfortably chased down a target of 75, losing only two wickets before Abdullah Shafique and captain Babar Azam guided the visitors to the finish with an assured unbeaten partnership.

Usman completes West Indies collapse

Resuming the morning precariously placed at 103 for six, the West Indies needed a determined lower-order fight to extend the contest. Instead, Pakistan required barely more than two overs to tighten their grip on the match.

Left-arm spinner Ali Usman struck almost immediately, bowling Kemar Roach for a duck after the veteran completely missed an ambitious slog sweep without adding to the overnight total.

Justin Greaves, clearly hampered by injury, battled through 32 deliveries for just three runs before inside-edging a Mohammad Ali delivery onto his stumps while attempting an aggressive pull shot, leaving the home side reeling at 115 for eight.

Shamar Joseph briefly injected some excitement with a typically fearless counterattack, sweeping Usman for two boundaries through the leg side to lift the spirits of the sparse crowd.

The cameo proved fleeting.

Attempting to repeat the stroke in Usman's following over, Joseph instead edged behind to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, bringing the innings to an abrupt conclusion.

Brandon King, who suffered an injury while fielding on the previous day, was unable to bat, leaving the West Indies all out for 117 in 46.1 overs.

Sajid Khan, whose late burst on Tuesday had triggered the collapse, finished with 4-32, while Usman claimed 4-39 to complete an outstanding match with the ball.

Measured chase seals Pakistan's triumph

Set just 75 runs for victory, Pakistan encountered only brief moments of resistance.

Jayden Seales provided the first breakthrough by tempting Imam-ul-Haq into an uncertain push, with Justin Greaves completing the catch in the slips after the opener had helped the score to 15.

Shamar Joseph soon followed with another wicket, dismissing Azan Awais for 18 when the opener chopped the ball onto his stumps while attempting a cut shot, reducing Pakistan to 42 for two.

Any hopes of a dramatic West Indies revival quickly evaporated.

Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam calmly absorbed the pressure before steadily taking control of the chase, combining in an unbroken 35-run partnership that carried Pakistan across the finish line.

After surviving a close leg-before-wicket appeal, Azam delivered the winning flourish in emphatic fashion, launching left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican for successive sixes over long-on and extra cover.

The Pakistan captain finished unbeaten on 24 from 30 deliveries, while Shafique remained undefeated on 24 off 51 balls.

Individual honors reflect outstanding series

Shafique's composed performances throughout the Test earned him the Player of the Match award after he anchored Pakistan's batting in both innings.

Series honors were shared between the two sides, with West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves collecting the Player of the Series award for the second consecutive Test series. He shared the accolade with Pakistan captain Babar Azam after both players delivered influential performances across the two-match contest.

Series ends all square

While the West Indies will rue another disappointing batting display that failed to capitalize on home conditions, Pakistan departed Trinidad with renewed confidence after ending a prolonged run of away defeats.

By combining disciplined spin bowling with composed batting under pressure, the visitors produced a comprehensive victory that ensured the series finished evenly at 1-1, leaving both teams with positives, and areas for improvement, as they turn their attention to future assignments.
