PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad — In an inspiring collaboration that bridges athletics and education, three-time Trinidad and Tobago Olympian Kai Selvon and St Lucian sprint star Julien Alfred, the reigning Olympic 100m gold and 200m silver medalist, have launched a vibrant new project aimed at nurturing the next generation—one page at a time.

Their creation, a premium children’s coloring book titled Champion Me, combines athletic excellence, cultural pride, and personal development in a format designed to inspire, educate, and empower young readers.

Beyond the lines: A book with purpose

Unveiled during Selvon’s recent interview with Andre Errol Baptiste on iSports on i95.5fm, the Olympian shared the heart behind the initiative.

“It’s not just a coloring book—it’s a premium coloring book,” Selvon emphasized. “It features the Olympic champion of 2024, Julien Alfred, and me, a three-time Olympian. That’s where the premium comes from.”

The book is infused with sports-themed activities, mindset-building exercises, and holistic wellness lessons—all wrapped in the joy of coloring. It’s a tool that fuses fun with function, carefully designed to introduce children to sports, health, and self-belief in an engaging, interactive way.

Representation in every stroke

Selvon, who formerly competed in the 200m, emphasized that Champion Me is about more than just staying within the lines—it’s about breaking barriers of underrepresentation and planting seeds of confidence.

“What if your child saw themselves in a book?” she asked pointedly. “Too often, our kids flip through pages and never see their skin, their curls, their dreams—but that changes now.”

From illustrations that reflect Caribbean heritage to uplifting messages that celebrate every child’s potential, the book provides visibility where it has long been lacking. It serves as a mirror for young readers—particularly those in the Caribbean and African diaspora—offering reflections of who they are and what they can become.

Building future champions, one page at a time

Now available on Amazon.comChampion Me introduces children to 10 different sports, while weaving in powerful motivational affirmations and resilience-building exercises. Designed for both individual enjoyment and educational use, the book is ideal for classrooms, birthday gifts, or simply encouraging a child to dream big.

With its vibrant illustrations, purposeful content, and authentic voices behind its creation, Champion Me is not just a coloring book—it’s a movement. A step toward instilling confidence, celebrating identity, and lighting the path for the champions of tomorrow.
