The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority has approved the reappointment of Dr. Didacus Jules for a fourth term as Director General, reaffirming its confidence in his leadership and continued role in advancing regional integration across the Eastern Caribbean.
The decision was taken during the 78th Meeting of the OECS Authority, where heads of government commended Jules for his service and contributions to regional development, cooperation and institutional strengthening throughout his tenure.
Since taking office in 2014, Jules has overseen initiatives focused on food sovereignty, digital transformation, public health, and education reform, while also strengthening the organisation’s capacity to respond to emerging regional and global challenges.
In a statement, OECS Authority Chairman and Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Godwin Friday, said the decision reflects strong confidence in Jules’ leadership.
“The decision reflects the confidence of the Authority in your leadership and acknowledges your valuable contribution to the advancement of the OECS integration agenda and the continued strengthening of the Organisation,” Friday said. “On behalf of the OECS Authority, I extend sincere congratulations on your reappointment and look forward to your continued service and dedication to the people and governments of the OECS member states.”
The OECS said the reappointment comes at a time when the organisation is navigating a complex geopolitical environment, underscoring the importance of experienced leadership in advancing its vision of a more integrated, resilient and prosperous region.
