Despite attempts made by hecklers to distract him, on Friday former President Barack Obama gave an inspiring address in Miami, Florida stomping on behalf of Democratic candidates seeking election on November 6.

Speaking in a rally at the Ice Palace near Overtown to support the campaign of Andrew Gillum seeking to become Florida’s first black governor, and the reelection of Democratic US Senator Bill Nelson, Obama in a far-ranging speech to an enthusiastic audience attacked some of President Donald Trump’s policies

Political stunt

Referring to Trump’s recent plan to post American military troops on the US southern border to bar entrance of a caravan of illegal immigrants heading to the US from Central America, Obama called the plan a "political stunt."  He said that Trump and the Republicans by planning to send troops to the border were " taking our brave troops away from their families for a political stunt at the border."

He passionately urged Floridians to turn out and vote in this mid-term general elections to counter fear-mongering and divisiveness in America. Particularly urging voters to vote for Gillum and Nelson he told them to “make history happen right here in Florida” Despite being interrupted several times by hecklers he said he couldn’t understand “why the party that won the last general elections are so boisterous.”

“Don’t boo, Vote”

As some of the Democrats in the crowd booed the Republican hecklers, the former president said, “ Don't get anxious and freaked out, don't throw up your hands in despair. Don't boo. Don't hashtag. Vote!"
