Originally opened in 1966 as the Ranch House Restaurant, the eatery has long been a gathering spot for locals. Now owned by Lyonel and Marie Blaise, Jimmy’s Diner continues to serve classic American breakfasts and lunches while employing a team that includes six North Miami residents.

Planned renovations include new flooring, ceiling improvements, an open seating layout, upgraded lighting, fresh landscaping, exterior painting, and restriping of the parking lot.

“Jimmy’s Diner represents more than just a restaurant—it’s a living part of our city’s history and identity,” said Anna-Bo Emmanuel, Esq., Executive Director of the North Miami CRA. “This project reflects our ongoing commitment to preserving our cultural landmarks while supporting economic growth and enhancing the vibrancy of our downtown area.”

The grant is part of the NMCRA’s broader mission to revitalize commercial corridors and support legacy businesses that help shape the community.
