At Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica Scorpions kicked off their third-round clash against Barbados Pride with a solid batting performance, posting a total of 269 runs in their first innings.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Romaine Morris showcased exceptional resilience at the crease, narrowly missing out on a maiden first-class century with a superb knock of 97 runs not out. Morris's innings proved pivotal for the Scorpions, who found themselves at 113-5 before his arrival at the crease. His partnership with the lower order propelled the Scorpions to a competitive total.

Earlier in the innings, opener Carlos Brown and Kirk McKenzie contributed valuable runs, scoring 40 each. Brown displayed his good form, while McKenzie notched his first significant score of the season. However, it was Morris's authoritative innings that stole the spotlight, featuring 10 boundaries and three sixes.

Warrican and McAllister lead Pride’s bowling attack

Barbados Pride's bowling attack, led by Jomel Warrican and Jair McAllister, managed to make inroads into the Scorpions' batting line-up, but Morris's resilient stand thwarted their efforts. At the close of play, Barbados Pride were 15-0, with Zachary McCaskie and Kraigg Brathwaite at the crease.

In other matches across the championship, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Guyana Harpy Eagles, West Indies Academy, Combined Campuses & Colleges, and Windward Islands Volcanoes were also in action, setting the stage for an enthralling round of cricket.
