Held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, the 69th Miss Universe international competition was won by Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza.
Although Miss Jamaica did not take the crown, the 24-year-old international fashion and beauty model said she was grateful for the support of Jamaicans throughout the competition.

Among those who sent congratulations to Williams was Oliver Mair, Jamaica’s Consul General for Southern USA. On social media, Mair posted, "Congrats Miss Universe Jamaica Miqueal Symone Williams for finishing in the top 10. Thanks for representing us so well. You are a winner in our eyes!" Prime Minister Andrew Holness also sent his congratulations to Williams.Two former Jamaican beauty queens, Yendi Phillips, Miss Jamaica 2010, and Terri-Karelle Reid, Miss World Jamaica 2005, also expressed pride in William’s performance in the competition and her top ten achievement.
