The City of Miramar is inviting South Florida’s Haitian community and football fans across the region to a large-scale World Cup watch party headlined by the highly anticipated match between Haiti and Brazil on Friday, June 19.

The event, announced by Mayor Wayne Messam, will take place at Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater and is expected to draw crowds from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties for an evening of international football and cultural celebration.

The park will open throughout the day, with matches beginning at 3:00 p.m. The schedule includes United States vs. Australia at 3:00 p.m., Scotland vs. Morocco at 6:00 p.m., and the featured match—Haiti vs. Brazil—set for 8:30 p.m.

All games will be shown on large outdoor screens, creating a festival-like atmosphere at the covered amphitheater venue.

Mayor Messam said the event is about more than sport, highlighting its cultural significance for the Haitian community, which has a strong presence in Miramar.

“Haiti’s presence on the world stage is a source of pride for Haitians everywhere,” Messam said. “This event is about more than soccer. It is an opportunity for families, friends, and our entire community to come together and celebrate Haitian excellence, culture, resilience, and national pride.”

He encouraged attendees to wear Haiti’s blue and red colors and join what is expected to be a high-energy, family-friendly gathering.

Miramar has long positioned itself as a multicultural hub in South Florida, and officials say events like the World Cup watch party reinforce that identity while bringing residents together through sport and shared cultural experiences.

The matchup between Haiti and five-time World Cup champion Brazil is expected to be the highlight of the evening, drawing strong interest from fans across South Florida’s diverse football communities.
