Miami Heat's late efforts fall short against Wizards; Butler and Robinson miss game winners

The Miami Heat faced a disappointing defeat against the Washington Wizards at the Kaseya Center, with the game culminating in a tense final buzzer showdown.
Despite opportunities for sharpshooter Duncan Robinson and star Jimmy Butler to secure a game-winning shot, both attempts missed their mark, sealing the Heat's fate with a 110-108 loss.
In the closing minutes, Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma's missed opportunities added to the drama, including a crucial offensive rebound but failed floater. Robinson's consecutive missed three-pointers heightened the suspense, with Caleb Martin's put-back layup bringing the Heat within two points. However, Kuzma's offensive foul on Terry Rozier's subsequent possession dashed the Heat's hopes of a comeback.
Kuzma's late-game errors
Despite Kuzma's late-game errors, he delivered a commendable performance with 32 points and nine rebounds, albeit on inefficient shooting. Wizards guards Tyus Jones and Corey Kispert also contributed significantly with a combined 34 points and 22 assists.
While Butler struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 0 of 4, he managed to contribute 23 points and four assists. Rozier continued his upward trajectory with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, despite a modest stat line.
The absence of star Tyler Herro's offensive aggression, due to ongoing injuries, was felt by the Heat, underscoring the importance of his presence in the line-up.
With the defeat behind them, the Heat will regroup for their upcoming matchup against the reigning champion Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, aiming to bounce back from this setback.
