Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a July hit-and-run at an intersection in Doral that left three people injured.

Anthony Brandon Lamelas was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened around 3:39 a.m. July 5 at the intersection of NW 25th Street and NW 76th Avenue.

According to investigators, two adult women were struck by a black sedan while they were in the roadway. One of the women remained in the roadway as the sedan maneuvered around her and fled.

An adult man then ran toward the woman to help. As he attempted to provide assistance, he was struck by an older-model gold Ford Expedition with a dark gray lower body.

Investigators said the Ford Expedition then ran over the woman who remained in the roadway before fleeing the scene. Neither driver stopped to assist the victims or call 911, according to the sheriff's office.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported all three victims to a nearby hospital. Their current conditions were not released.

Through their investigation, detectives identified Lamelas as the driver of the Ford Expedition. He was arrested and charged in connection with leaving the scene of the crash.

Investigators are still searching for the driver of the black sedan that initially struck the two women.

Anyone with information about the crash or the unidentified driver is asked to contact the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Midwest District General Investigations Unit at 305-471-2800. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage can also submit it directly to investigators through the sheriff's office's evidence submission portal.

The investigation remains ongoing.
